Air Blows On Floor Not In Front Vents

If an ac vent is not blowing air in one room in your home then close the vents in other rooms either partially or wholly to improve the airflow to that room.

I have heard some people say it is probably a vaccum hose issue. I have a 1991 s 10. The air won t blow out the dash vents. Ac only blowing through defrost vent and not coming out of the main front vents.

Any one know what i need to do to fix this problem. Owners have reported several instances of the air conditioning not blowing through main dash vents or only blowing through the floor and defrost vents. During battery replacement the control module for the mode actuators may lose its memory. Had to play with the switch to get it to blow.

Problem started after a trip to south florida it was blowing on and off out of the vents but weak. Try closing some air vents in bathrooms closets and hallways to see if you get better airflow to the affected room. Where the air comes from when vacuum is lost the system defaults to the defrost mode. I get good heat and air conditioning from my front vents but when i select floor or defrost vents the air still only blows from front vents.

I can only get air to blow out of the defroster vents or the floor vents no matter if i use heat or a c. I would appreciate any help i can get on this issue as i would like to get my a c working asap. A c not coming from front vents only blowing from defrost and floor.
