Alan oliver is a textile artist who works across various mediums to produce handwoven rugs wall hangings and printed textiles.

His practice explores ideas of identity through traditional textile craft practices. All of my pieces are woven by me at my london studio and in addition to weaving the rugs a large part of my practice is spent hand dyeing the yarns i use in order to achieve the exact colours and gradients needed for each piece. In order to achieve the subtle gradations of colour in this rug all of the coloured yarns have been hand dyed here in my studio.
